Polvorones

S m i l e ~

This cookies is very very delicious. Why am i said so? i love this cookies since i am a little girl. I missed that buttery, thick cut, soft texture, melt in the mouth and so much of shortbread cookies taste. YUM ><

The taste of my old time favorite..:D

Now my kids can enjoy it ~

Can also packed as a gift...good food share with good friends~

Saw this cookies in Sonia's CNY round up and it is submitted by Alvin from  Chef and Sommelier and later saw Lena baked this. See!! blogging is so funny, why??? Because if a good recipe is around it will spread like good news to every corner of that community...don't you agreed? One more good example, it is just like Sonia's Bak Kwa and roasted pork ...did you see her Bak Kwa is almost in every bloggers home...LOL
I have not enough time, if not i will make this delicious Bak Kwa too...

Back to this cookies. At first i am keen with this cookies because it is simple to prepare and bake. After baking i love this cookies. Not only me, my boys and my hubby loves it too.

Polvorones
Adapted from Okashi Sweet Treats made with Love by Keiko Ishida /

Chef and Sommelier

Ingredients (Makes about 16 Polvorones)

110g Pastry Flour (sifted)
100g Unsalted Butter
40g Icing Sugar
50g Ground Almond

To Do:

Preheat oven at 150C. Bake sifted flour for 25 minutes. Stir occasionally while baking, then remove from oven and leave to cool. Keep oven heated.

Beat butter and icing sugar together until soft. Add ground almonds and mix well. Add flour to the batter and mix with spatula until a smooth dough forms.

Roll dough out to a thickness of 10mm. Cut out shapes using your preferred pastry cookie cutter and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat and cool polvorones on a wire rack.

To serve, dust polvorones with some icing sugar. Store in airtight container to keep them crisp.

Thanks to Alvin for this lovely recipe :)

I am submitting this post to Chinese New Year Delights 2013 hosted by Sonia aka Nasi Lemak Lover

Hope you will enjoy this as much as i do (^^*)

Shark Fin Dumpling ~鱼翅饺

This Shark Fin Dumpling (yu chi gow), is one of my favorite dumpling. Although it is named Shark Fin Dumpling, but they contain no actual shark fin in it. Some say the look and shape of the dumpling does look like shark fin and other do include in imitation shark fin, though. I am lucky to have spotted this long hibernating in the book shelf chinese dim sum book ‘香港地道小吃’ translated as 'Hong Kong Authentic Tapas' Well, Do, you find this look like Shark's Fin?? 看看形状像不像鱼翅呢??  Filling for the ingredients are prawn, mince meat, carrot, yam bean and black fungus. Get ready the filling and the wanton wrappers. This is the parade of my Shark's Fin dumpling ... lol Homemade parchment paper liner. Arrange them neatly into the bamboo steamer. HOT! HOT! From the steamer!! Loaded with filling ..YUM! ENJOY~ Shark Fin Dumpling (yu chi gow) (Scallop dumpling /Cilantro dumpling - depends which filling you using) Recipe adapted from  ‘香港地
