Stir fry Leek Flower with Prawn ~蒜花炒虾仁

Saw some leek flower on sell in the local supermarket last week. I grab a pack to cook for dinner. I always love the leek flower, they have got taste, texture, fiber and those cute looking buds are pretty and edible. The leek is a vegetable that belongs, along with the onion and garlic family. The leek flower is actually the Leek scapes or the shoot of the leafless flower stems of the leek plant. Usually the 'flower' is eaten before it blooms. This entire stalk and flower buds are edible and it is delicious. It is like leek flavored asparagus. Stir fry Leek Flower with Prawn ~蒜花炒虾仁 This dish is simple to prepare and it is delicious. The leek scape has got its garlicky and sweetness taste after cook. Yum!! The local supermarket sell this at RM12.50 per kg.  The leek flower or leek scapes! Just a simple Chinese style stir fry, the leek flower  with  prawn  this dish will be so delicious! Sambal Tumis Ikan ~ 酸辣辣椒鱼

I have a bad habit of buying lots of ingredient and ended up did not use that ingredient instantly but using another ingredient instead.  Last week i bought a fish 'ikan tongkol' thinking of making 'pulut lepa' but i bought the wrong fish..:p Again this fish goes into the freezer. Clearance , clearence ..today i am clearing the stocks in my freezer. I found my 'ikan tongkol' XD  Guess what i am going to cook?? You may have seen my title, of course it is Sambal Tumis Hu. Sambal Tumis in Malay means stir fry sauce and Hu is in hokkien and it means fish. ~ I found this Sambal Tumis Hu recipe in my book of Northern and Southern Nyonya Cuisine..this sambal t...

Misses the taste of green curry....^^

Fresh coriander or cliantro or chinese parsley is a type of plant that you can use it for cooking or garnishing. The whole plant can be use from the leaves and stems for soup, seeds used as spices, roots used for cooking curry or other dishes. Two kind of people, those who love this plant very much and those who hate it. Just because of the smell of the plant. Some of my friends would say it is 'xiang cai香菜~the fragrant vegetable' and some of them would say it is 'chou cai臭菜~the smelly vegetable'. Anyway, I say is a xiang cai, my family even my kids love it. I misses the Green Curry taste. I came to know this Green Curry when we went for our honeymoon in Melbourne years ago. We stayed at our brother and sister in law's place. My sister in law cook this premix thai green curry for us, this taste was simply delicious.
