This year durian in Miri is selling like hot cake. It's so cheap compare to previous year. Previous years it is selling by weight like RM10-13 a kilogram but this year it is selling like 1 fruit cost RM2.50 - 3.00 I even heard my nanny told me there is RM1.00 for a durian selling in the wet market..:p
Cheap!! I have the chance to buy more to keep for my bakes..LOL

I kept the durian fleshes in small airtight containers. Seal tight so the aroma of the durian do not escape ..:p First, I bake a Durian Butter Cake. Its moist, full of durian aroma and simply delicious :p

又美美平滑也没裂痕呢!!
This durian butter cake does not have crack after baking, with just a little dome on top but when it cold it is flat.

The durian buttercake is blend with parmesan cheese powder and ground almond. The fragrant of durian does not over powering the cake and they compliment each other very well. It is moist and buttery with the hint of durian...YUM!

Ingredients:
250g butter (i used can golden churn butter)
200g castor sugar ( i used 180g)
4 eggs
200g plain flour
5g baking powder (sift together with plain flour)
1/8 tsp baking soda ( i omitted this)
30g ground almond
20g parmesan cheese
65g durian flesh (i added this and i sieve it to get the smooth paste)
To do:
- Grease and line a 18cm (7 inches) square baking tin. (I used a 3 inches high baking tin)
- Beat butter and sugar till creamy. Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well afer each addition.
- Fold in sifted flour, baking powder, ground almond, parmesan cheese and durian paste. Blend well after each addition to form smooth batter.
- Spread batter into prepared baking pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. ( i baked mine for 55 minutes on medium rack)

Mui Mui, I love this durian cheese butter cake! I know my mother will pengsan because she don't like durian and cheese. To her both are very smelly. Hah! Hah! So I no chance to bake this cake :(

From the ingredients I can know this sure is very rich, flavourful and creamy butter cake. You are right this year durian prices drop a lot. Due to that I manage to get some for my bakes. Have a nice weekend ahead !

Mmmm... can smell the durian from here. Durians are everywhere here too but lately I had some and they weren't so good, maybe because of the rainy season. Btw, just to update you, the Apricot Sultana cake .... I told you the height was about 1.25 inches. I'm baking them in the oven now, it's about 2 inches high. The one that I posted was all eaten up so I couldn't really recall. Sorry!

Your cake looks wonderful! Durians are going cheap right now, I can find them everywhere! Already bought and eaten a few times, wanted to make some cakes, but each time the durians got eaten up, even the leftovers!
