My favourites ~ Cheese Slice Chiffon Cake

Chiffon cake is my favourite. I remember the first time I made a chiffon cake is a pandan chiffon and my 'sifo' is my auntie Fong. She gave me a very simple and sure successful recipe. Guess what? I really did it.

This one is Cheese Slice Chiffon Cake. I used a 7" tubed pan to baked this chiffon cake. Its cute and for a small family we can finish it just for afternoon tea...^ ^


  Cheese Slice Chiffon Cake
Recipe source is adapted from Kevin Chai "Chiffon cake is done"

Ingredients (A) :
3 pieces of cheese slices
20ml cooking oil
20ml milk
2 egg yolks
10g castor sugar
40g plain flour

Ingredients B:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar (1 use 1/2  tsp lemon juice)
40g castor sugar
Method:

1) Double-boiled cheese, milk and cooking oil till cheese is completely melted. When it is a little cold add in egg yolk, castor sugar stir well and lastly add in plain flour mix to combine. Set aside.

2) Beat the egg whites until satiny peaks form, and then beat in the sugar a spoonful at a time until it is stiff and shiny.
3) Fold the egg whites into the cheese mixture (1) and mix to combine. Do not over mix it.
4) Pour into a 7" tube pan and bake on a low rack in a preheated oven 170c for 35minutes.
When it is cooked take out the tube pan and overturn the pan to let it cool down.
When it is cool, unmould it and serve.


**This chiffon is really nice it is soft and spongy..
If you like cheese and you don't have cream cheese aat home and wanted to make cheese chiffon, why not try this cheese slice chiffon cake..^^
