~Slice, slice... Matcha Red Bean sandwich loaf~
Matcha and red bean is a very good combination. The compliment each other. I love the taste and the flavour of Matcha.
'Matcha' means finely-milled or fine powder green tea. It is not only for drinking. Matcha also can be use to flavour and dye food such as mochi, soba noodles, ice cream and here I am using Matcha for making bread.
This Matcha Red Bean sandwich loaf is soft and nice. This recipe source is from
' 孟老师100 types of bread book'
The original recipe is three tone sandwich bread loaf. I change it to Matcha Red Bean sandwich loaf. Since this month is Saint Patrick Challenge by Very Good Recipes, it is why I change it to green by adding Matcha (green tea).
Hope you will enjoy this!

This recipe is modify and adapted from: 孟老师100 types of bread book
Ingredients:
A) 300g bread flour
30g castor sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 tsp (5g) instant yeast
180g water
1 tsp matcha powder
B) 20g unsalted butter
C) 30g cooked red bean
a pullman loaf baking tin..size L19.7cm x W10.6cm x H 11cm
To do:
1) Put all ingredients A into a mixing bowl. Mix and knead into a dough. Add butter and continue kneading until a smooth and elastic dough is form. Cover and let it proof for 1 hour or double its size.
2) Take the dough, put it on a lightly floured working top. Roll out the dough into a retangle shape and remove any air bubbles if there is any.
3) Sprinkle cooked red bean onto the flat dough evenly. Roll back again like rolling a swiss roll and sealed it. Put it into the pullman loaf baking pan and cover with the lid.
4) Let it rest for 1 hour, by this time the dough will fill up the pan about 90%. Bake in a preheated oven to 190c top heater and 200c lower heater. (I used 190c for both) and bake for 40 minutes. Remove from baking pan and cool on wire rack.
