A simple lunch ~

It was another lunch hour and it was a school day. Shawn's (my eldest) school breaks at 12.40pm. We will be picking up Sam (my 2nd son) first because his school break at 12pm then we rush over to wait for Shawn at the school entrance. The traffic around school area at that time will be very very jam. After picking Shawn we still have to spend some time to get away from the traffic jam. By the time we reach home its already 1.15pm. (My home to school is only 2-3 minutes drive, if the traffic is clear)  I will chase Shawn to have a shower and then lunch. Sometimes if i am late from work i would be able to prepare his lunch per- ahead. We would order take away or eat out. I try my very best to avoid take away and eat out.

This time i am preparing a quick and easy Hakka Rolls. Its our family favourite. This Hakka Rolls is made sometimes last week for lunch. Do you find this rolls something like Vietnamese Rolls?? Anyway, the wrapper and the filling is different though..:D I saw some Vietnamese Rolls in No-Frills Recipes (Cheah's blog) sometimes back, just hop over and have a peep..:p

~Savory, light filling wrapped with soft, chewy and thin kway teow sheets..

~This Hakka snack have been pass down to my MIL from her MIL. Everytime i make this my MIL would say.."Lastly time i make for my MIL and now my daughter in law make for me!" How beautiful that we can still keep this Hakka Rolls keep on passing to the next generation. My kids were trained by my hubby to eat this Hakka Rolls as snacks..Now they love this Hakka Rolls. Even my three year old boy love it too:D

~My homemade firm yellow bean curd..

This is a re-visit post..i have written this post in English. Then i thought i will write this post in Mandarin and there is a little changes i have made here though..:p But still maintain the same yummlicious there. If you are interesting in English version please visit here :D

    1. Sonia,
I bought those Kuey Teow skin from my hubby's friend kuey toew factory. They supplies kuey teow to everywhere in my town.
My MIL is the one who make this yellow bean curd. I will try to learn from her and share this with you. How i wish i can send some to you since it is your husband's favourite. This yellow bean curd can actually kept in fridge for 2-3 days.(not in the freezer, just the normal chill area) We use turmeric powder to dye the yellow bean curd. So it is safe to consume in such bright yellow color.
